Ever since my rudbeckia's died (they were only annuals), the front yard's been a little drab. So today I planted several bunches of garden mums: some rich yellows, some deep, rust colors. Perfect for fall & winter!
The rudbeckia's ruled when it came to height. The mums are for sure squat. But they add a nice burst of color to the front hedges--and it's cheerful, even on a misty, rainy day like today:
