Now that I know my one-eyed toad lives under the rocks at the garden corner, I decorated it with a couple items I had slated to go in the garage sale--but are getting a second life. One is a white ceramic toad (I don't know where it came from) and the other is a small bird bath with a row of frogs on it. This, I think, was a gift years ago?
The birdbath in the photo has some seed in it--and other items blown in from a storm. So it's a little dirty--but--I'm delighted the toad isn't upset by the landscape changes. I'm hoping the water bowl there might help attract some bugs he/she can eat.
When I can't sleep, I like to go outside and see if I can find my toad. Usually he/she sits on the driveway near the rocks, or hops up toward the front door to romance the bricks. But this night, the toad was quietly sitting on one of the garden edgers--what a happy sight!
