Reaching way back to Season 1, episode 1: Reloaded. At the end of the show we get a great beauty shot of the blue & chrome pen Sharon offers the suspect to write his statement.
Okay, the first shot was just a gratuitous image of Sharon Raydor's hand, but the second pic has great detail.
And here it is: "Bailey", by Cross, in blue lacquer & chrome:
This was a limited run in 2010, I believe. It could be purchased a solo twist pen, or a combo pen and pencil set. As of 2014, these can still be found via Ebay and Amazon, with a range of prices.
How did it feel? By luck, I was given a set (in burgundy--the pens came in several colorways) when first released & I remember both the pen & pencil had good heft. They felt substantial but weren't unbalanced in hand. The lacquer finish was smooth and glossy, it looked deep and rich. The chrome was a similar high shine. A very smart material and color combo. The double ring/cigar band had subtle angled knurling that was just grippy enough to make twisting the utensil open & shut even easier. That knurling provided interesting visual contrast to an otherwise very sleek form.
How did it perform? The ink was clear, not prone to breaking or blobbing--no scratchy lines, flowed well out of the box, with a nice thin line. With some twist-deployed pens I've experienced them slowly untwisting themselves closed again, via simple use. The Cross Bailey did not suffer from this ailment: it stayed comfortably open. She wrote like a champ, was sturdy and pleasant to work with. The pencil worked well, I'm just a mechanical pencil snob, so I only use a few specific brands--as it was, I gave the burgundy Bailey pencil to a friend. Refills for ink are still easy to find.
For you ladies that want a little piece of Sharon's world, you can buy this pen, use it, and still pass in society as 'normal' and not the raving fangirl you just might be... Amazon & Ebay still have these sporadically, as a single pen or the pen/pencil combo.
